Research and Demographics

The Southeast Tennessee Development District staff operates the Data Affiliate Program through the U.S. Census Bureau. This program provides the SETDD office with extensive census information in exchange for SETDD staff providing technical assistance to individuals requesting information. After each decennial census, census summary reports are prepared for each county. These reports are distributed to local officials, libraries and others upon request.

The staff surveys, analyzes and compiles statistical information on the region and prepares and distributes numerous reports.

The staff provides extensive technical assistance upon request to local governments, business and individuals concerning the availability and use of information and statistics about the region.

The staff actively encourages the coordination of statistical and research information between agencies to provide better referral of information available for the region. The staff accomplishes this through close coordination with the Tennessee State Data Center and the U.S. Census Bureau.
