Building Community and Economic Development
The Southeast Tennessee Development District (SETD) works alongside state and local governments, regional partners, and communities to strengthen Southeast Tennessee and create lasting opportunity for the people who call our region home.
Through our three primary areas of service — Southeast Tennessee Area Agency on Aging & Disability (SETAAAD), Workforce Development, and Community & Economic Development — we connect communities and individuals with the resources, expertise, and partnerships needed to address shared challenges and build a stronger region together.
SETD helps local governments identify, secure, and administer state and federal funding for projects that strengthen communities. Our team provides support throughout the grant process, from application development through project implementation and closeout.
SETD provides financing opportunities to help eligible small businesses start, expand, and create or retain jobs across the region. Our revolving loan programs help connect businesses with capital to support continued growth and investment.
SETD works with communities to preserve and celebrate the historic places that help define Southeast Tennessee. Through preservation planning, grant assistance, and technical expertise, we help protect important community assets while supporting revitalization and long-term investment.
