Historic Preservation

SETD's Historic Preservation program works alongside local governments, property owners, and community partners to preserve and celebrate the historic places that help define Southeast Tennessee.

Through professional planning assistance, technical expertise, grant development and administration, historic resource documentation, SETD helps communities protect significant buildings, sites, and cultural resources for future generations. The program also assists with National Register of Historic Places nominations and connects communities with funding opportunities that can help make preservation projects possible.

Communities and partners interested in exploring a preservation project are encouraged to contact our Historic Preservation Planner.
