Building Community and Economic Development
Community & Economic Development at SETD works alongside local governments and regional partners to help build stronger, more resilient communities across Southeast Tennessee. Through planning, infrastructure investment, grant development and administration, economic development, and other community-focused initiatives, we help turn local priorities into meaningful progress.
Our work is centered on creating the conditions communities need to grow and thrive. SETD provides professional planning and technical assistance to help local governments manage growth and make informed decisions about their communities. Services include land-use planning, zoning, development review, mapping, and long-range planning.
SEIDA brings together regional economic development partners to support business growth, job creation, and capital investment across Southeast Tennessee and the surrounding region. Through collaboration, site development, and industry support, SEIDA helps position the region for continued economic opportunity
Comprehensive economic development strategy provides a regional framework for identifying economic priorities, addressing shared challenges, and guiding long-term growth across Southeast Tennessee.
